S.A. Andre's name is a nod to the famous 19th century balloon explorer and his ill fated expedition to the North Pole in 1897, when all three members of his crew died. The entire album, There's A Fault is influenced by this tale, from the choice of vintage analog instruments selected for their inaccuracy and inherently archaic behavior to the track titles and most importantly the bleakly melancholy mood. With an array of bleeps, affected shoe-gazy vocals and sparse beats they conjure a delicate and tender album that is a sound all its own.
