Pearl Jam Backspacer on 180g Vinyl LP! 2009 No-Strings-Attached Pearl Jam Album is Group's Best Studio Effort in More Than a Decade! Stunning Die-Cut Gatefold Album Art! Backspacer is Pearl Jam's ninth studio album and it will be released without a label in the U.S. and through Universal Music Group internationally. The pop and New Wave influenced release is the group's first to be produced by Brendan O'Brien since their 1998 release Yield. Recorded largely in Los Angeles, Backspacer is also the first time the band recorded outside of Seattle, WA since the band's 1996 album, No Code. At 11 songs and less than 37 minutes, Backspacer is the leanest and meanest Pearl Jam album yet. “The Fixer” became the foundation for the album while the other musical highlights include the opening one-two combo of “Gonna See My Friend,” a furious Stooges-style garage blast, and the propulsive “Got Some,” which Pearl Jam premiered on the first episode of The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien. The orchestrated “Just Breathe” is a gorgeous ballad based on an instrumental from Vedder’s Into the Wild soundtrack, while “The End” is an aching love song that closes the album. This exquisite pressing features gatefold double pocket jacket, die-cut front cover, 24-page booklet, full color LP inner sleeve, 180g vinyl, and original art by Tom Tomorrow.
