Ant Trip Ceremony 24 Hours on Import LP A fleeting moment of inspired folk rock/psychedelia, recorded at Oberlin College in 1968 by four college students and one local teen. The band was the brainchild of student and guitarist Steve DeTray who had just returned to school after a brief hiatus in Utah, where he was undoubtedly inspired by the whole West Coast psychedelic rock scene. After a year spent playing a mix of covers and original material the boys decide to commit their moment in history to vinyl, recording 24 Hours in two sessions with the help of fellow student David Crosby (not of CSN&Y fame, as is sometimes claimed). The original pressing was just 300 copies that were then sold mainly to friends and local fans, and soon became one of those rare collectibles from which several low-quality bootlegs were made. |
