Released one year after Metallica’s Load album, the bookending follow-up Reload continued to build upon the legendary Bay Area band's musical expansion into areas apart from its trademark thrash signatures and charged metal. Coming at a time when hard rock was still searching for a new identity, the 1997 release helped establish new parameters and announced to the world that Metallica still wasn’t content resting on its laurels.

Now, fans can finally hear Reload in wonderful  fidelity. Receiving the same audiophile treatment afforded the group’s first six records, Warner Bros.' reissued 2LP set of Reload has been cut from the original masters by Bernie Grundman and sounds tremendously better than the original pressing.
