Forming in 1982, Anvil released one of the heaviest albums of all time, Metal on Metal, influencing some of the biggest names in rock including Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax. But while those bands went on to sell millions of albums and achieve international fame, Anvil’s career took a different path straight to obscurity.

On the heels of the critically acclaimed documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, Lips, Robb and G5 (aka Glenn Gyorffy), persistent as ever, are back with their 13th recording aptly named This Is Thirteen. Produced by Chris Tsangarides (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy), with a legion of newly found fans, heavy hitter manager Rick Sales (Slayer) on board and a new label (VH1 Classic Records) to call home,  the band is set to take their rightful place in metal history.
