Released in February of 1969, Cloud Nine was The Temptations’ first album to feature vocalist Dennis Edwards, following David Ruffin’s departure from the group the previous year. The album was a Top Ten U.S hit and  went on to win a Grammy Award. Cloud Nine displays a noticeable shift from the group's traditional Motown sound into more psychedelic territory, influenced by new artists such as Sly And The Family Stone. Features the hit singles "Run Away Child, Running Wild" and the title track, as well as their classic re-interpretation of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine."
