The Novo is a discrete-transistorized "power-amp in miniature" dedicated to headphone-fidelity, unlike other headphone amplifiers at this price, which are usually based on a simple "cheap and cheerful" integrated circuit!

The Novo includes an innovative second negative feedback (NFB) network which gives the Novo a little performance boost when dealing with difficult or complex loads. As a result this diminutive powerhouse has an energetic presentation and big punchy bass with great definition - in fact its forte is presenting detail in an unforced and natural way.

Measuring just 4.25" square and 2" tall, weighing in at just about a pound, the Novo is unquestionably a miniature component, but its size belies its ability to convey music with an immense feeling of energy.

Controversially, the Novo is powered by a tiny plug style switch-mode power supply - such technology doesn't usually lead to results like these! Technical Details
The Graham Slee Novo stereo headphone amplifier is a discrete solid state transistor configuration. The Novo uses multi-path negative feedback to reduce distortion ensuring great musicality with all good high fidelity headphones.

A daisy-chained pair of RCA jacks enables the stereo input to be routed to other equipment such as a power amplifier. The Novo's input impedance is greater than 39kOhms so as to be virtually transparent to the source.  The output jack is designed for standard 1/4 inch headphone plugs.

Optimum results will be obtained with headphone impedances between 16 - 600 Ohms. A clever impedance reduction network reduces the driving impedance "seen" by the headphones and compensates for the headphone cable's capacitance, leading to a more focused musical image than purely resistive or "power-amp" type headphone amplifier outputs. It also reduces the apparent differences between dissimilar headphones.
The volume control can be set at any position to give comfortable listening. Unlike Hi-Fi amplifier volume controls it can be set at any position and still give excellent performance. This is preferable to the contact resistance and wear of a gain switch, which would otherwise be required to accommodate so many different headphone impedances.

The Novo is supplied with an Energy Efficient plug style AC/DC mains adapter power supply for universal mains use: 90-250VAC; supplied with a selection of plug heads to suit the customer's mains outlet.Switched mode power supplies save energy and reduce carbon emissions protecting planet earth and can help audio sound great!
