The Outlaw RR-2150 has truly been a labor of love. With over ninety man-years in product design and over one hundred two-channel products among them, the Outlaw team working on this product would accept nothing less than perfection. Growing up listening to pure two-channel stereo they knew there probably wouldn’t be another chance to create a product like this. Everything: the design, the fit and finish, the circuit topology, the feature list, and of course, the sonic performance, had to be perfect.
“Priced in the neighborhood of budget phono preamps and cheap,
underpowered, mechanical-sounding multichannel receivers—and well below
the cost of even a moderately priced audiophile cable—Outlaw Audio's
RR2150 receiver combines a full range of features with two powerful
channels of amplification. Give a listen to this receiver! You'll be in
for a big surprise—especially if you have megabuck electronics. If this
was sold through the usual channels instead of exclusively online, it
would cost twice as much and still be worth every cent!”
The first requirement was a timeless design and for inspiration they extensively researched the classic designs of the past. The Outlaw RR-2150 is reminiscent of the golden age of art deco radios, coupled with design elements traditionally found only in high-end, two-channel products. A thick, multi layered, brushed aluminum front panel combined with custom tooled knobs and a precision, motorized volume control helps to capture all of these elements.
“Outlaw’s RR 2150 establishes a benchmark for what receivers
its price can do, and it has also become a product I plan to use as my
“go to” recommendation when people ask me for suggestions on how to get
started in high-performance stereo. The Outlaw offers refined and
powerful sound, clever yet practical real world features, and terrific
Along with an elegant appearance, one look at the front panel will tell you that the RR-2150 is simple and intuitive, so most users will be able to get their RR-2150 up and running right out of the box.
Features and Performance:
For all of the vinyl purists out there, the RR-2150 includes an excellent MM/MC phono stage with signal-to-noise and distortion performance rivaling expensive stand-alone phono preamplifiers. At the same time, the RR-2150 steps into the future, with a USB input that will allow you to connect your computer or other compatible product to a real music system. This will make your MP3s and streaming audio programs sound better than you ever imagined possible.
Since many listeners now own modern two-channel audio systems that use “sub/sat” speakers as an alternative to more traditional full-range models, the Outlaw RR-2150 is the world’s first two-channel receiver with built-in analog bass management that allows you to integrate virtually any subwoofer with your bookshelf speakers. With any quality subwoofer, seamless deep bass with your monitor speakers is now an audiophile reality.
Other great features, such as bypass-able tone controls, a fantastic sounding AM/FM tuner, an external processor loop, trigger controls for use with external amplifiers, a separate record output bus, A/B speaker outputs and the use of specialty audiophile-grade parts and selected components. However, the proof is in the listening, and that is something you’ll want to experience for yourself. We encourage you to audition this remarkable stereo receiver. In your system and you tell us if all the praise is overstated! Our highest recommendation!
