The Telepathic Butterflies Breakfast In Suburbia On Vinyl LP

The Telepathic Butterflies' name is inspired by a passage in Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Breakfast of Champions and it speaks volumes about the sound of this Winnipeg based group. The band is comprised of Rejean Ricard (guitars, vocals and songwriting duties), Jake Dubois (drums), Eric van Buren (bass) and Angus Kirkpatrick (guitars, vocals). Against a backdrop of rhythmic guitars, moving bass lines and frenetic drums, their sound can be described as a mix of vintage Teenage Fanclub, Cotton Mather and the Beatles, harmonizing over an aggressive guitar assault not unlike Nirvana or Oasis. Their music is a blend of equal parts jangle, psychedelia, melody and harmony. Their songs navigate through multi-layered arrangements steeped with avante sonic textures. Breakfastis In Suburbia is the bands third album on Rainbow Quartz spanning a period of seven years and it's undoubtedly their most ambitious full-length recording to date.
