Embryo Embryo's Rache on 180g Vinyl LP One of the most significant bands to rise out of the Krautrock scene of the 1970s, the Munich-based musical collective Embryo has been led through the decades by multi-instrumentalist Christian Burchard. Although the group’s sound has since become synonymous with World Music, their second LP 1971’s Embryo’s Rache (Embryo’s Revenge) still found the band in acid jazz/prog territory, with some nice Hammond, mellotron playing by American expat Jimmy Jackson (Ray Charles and Amon Duul II), here billed as “Tabarin Man” but the world music influences were already beginning to come to the fore, with heavy African percussion and eastern flute played by Xhol Caravan member Hansi Fischer, giving it a very different over all sound from their debut of the previous year, Opal. This version contains the bonus track "Back To Africa." Embryo Embryo's Rache Track Listing |
