Originally released in 1970 and instantly heralded as one of the most beloved solo debuts of all time, McCartney announced to the world that Paul McCartney was more than ready for a career outside of the Beatles. Hitting #1 on the charts, the record yielded the timeless tracks "Every Night" and "That Would Be Something" along with the immortal classic "Maybe I'm Amazed."

Recorded at the multi-instrumentalist's home studio, McCartney performed nearly every note himself and also handled production duties. While Macca handles the standard bass, drums, guitar, piano and organ, he also works xylophone, Mellotron, and organ into the mix. The material here is a blend of white soul, hummable pop, and lightly rocking numbers that succeed via their modest charm and ageless melodies. He also calls on then-wife Linda McCartney to supply background vocals.

Part of the icon's ongoing Archive Collection, McCartney has been remastered at Abbey Road from the original master tapes by the same engineering team responsible for the internationally acclaimed Beatles reissues. We assure you that this 1970 masterwork has never sounded better, and the gatefold packaging looks stunning. In addition, McCartney has unlocked the vault and supplied seven rare and previously unreleased tracks to add to the album's overall enjoyment and context. Not surprisingly, Macca himself oversaw the entire reissue.
