When they released Blowing In From Chicago on Blue Note in 1957, Clifford Jordan and John Gilmore were legends in Chicago only. Jordan would soon go on to become a kingpin of the New York hard bop scene and Gilmore would immerse himself in the world of Sun Ra, with large thanks due to the success of this fine set which found the pair teaming up with Horace Silver, Curly Russell and Art Blakey.
