John Lennon Live Peace In Toronto on LP + 1970 Calendar
The legendary Live Peace In Toronto was John Lennon's declaration of independence from the Beatles and the turning point in his mind to officially leave the group. The September 13, 1969 live performance at Toronto's Rock and Roll Revival Festival was Lennon's first in over four years and it would offer the first look at what would become John and Yoko's Plastic Ono Band. Lennon's lead vocal and rhythm guitar duties are supported here brilliantly by Eric Clapton on guitar fresh from the breakup of Blind Faith, Klaus Voormann on bass, Yes drummer Alan White and Yoko Ono on additional vocals. The historic set includes Lennon numbers like "Yer Blues," "Cold Turkey"and "Give Peace a Chance" mixed in with a handful of blues-based oldies such as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Money" and "Dizzy Miss Lizzie." John Lennon Live Peace In Toronto Track Listing: 1. Blue Suede Shoes 2. Money 3. Dizzy Miss Lizzy 4. Yer Blues 5. Cold Turkey 6. Give Peace A Chance 7. Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her hand in the Snow) 8. John, John (Let's Hope For Peace) |
