Since Headlights formation in 2004, the band has toured virtually nonstop, playing over 300 shows in the past two and a half years in support of both their debut Enemies EP and their stunning and critically lauded 2006 full-length, Kill Them With Kindness. That sort of hard work pays off, and Headlights are set to capitalize on it with their sophomore follow-up Some Racing, Some Stopping.

Based around acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, drums and other instrumentation, Some Racing, Some Stopping combines the pop sensibilities of previous efforts with a more restrained approach to songcraft that results in a clearer, concise musical vision. Songs like the chiming, harmonic “Catch Them All,” the light and airy “Cherry Tulips,” the solemn “January,” and the driving, string-touched “Market Girl” are evidence of a band that is coming into their own.
