Piana is a collection of sad pop songs for solo piano. Or, in other words, a set of tunes akin to the turn of the 20th century, French, impressionist piano music of Erik Satie and Claude Debussy. The compositions for Piana were written in Mexico and performed by John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood) in Woodstock, NY.

The Piana album is accompanied by a bonus DVD, which includes remixes, or re-interpretations of the tracks on the Piana album. This disc includes remix tracks by Devendra Banhart, Violens, Lucky Dragons, The Bees and many more. In addition, there are artistic re-interpretations, such as photography from Lauren Dukoff, and video by Steve and George Gorrow.

The interactive, all-inclusive artistic vision was birthed by Gregory Rogove. Rogove, also known for his work with Devendra Banhart, has toured and recorded with innumerable bands. In his latest artistic vision, Piana, Rogove shows the complexity of his musical knowledge, as well as the diversity of his artistic knowledge. Spanning the gap between classical and indie-rock, visual and musical artwork, Piana is truly a masterpiece that be enjoyed by all.
