Suzanne Vega was one of the pioneers of the female singer/songwriter movement that domineered the late-'80s and early-'90s. Her unexpected self-titled hit album Suzanne Vega from 1985, with well-loved song "Marlene On The Wall" topped the charts and won her the admiration of critics and fans alike.

On Close Up Volume 1 in the series of records on which Suzanne Vega reinterprets her favorite songs, we were treated to her best songs on love. Close Up Volume 2 is themed around People & Places and features two of her biggest international hits with "Luka" and "Tom's Diner." The acoustic arrangements here are as clever as ever and effectively avoid sentimental nostalgia. Vega also shows she's not afraid of using new material; "Man Who Played God" co-written with Danger Mouse and the late Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse) was first released in 2010.

On vinyl for the first time, this release is pressed on 180g audiophile vinyl and is housed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve.
