Chris Cornell has been a major force and contributor in the rock music world for many years. As founding member of the iconic Soundgarden, his collaborative efforts and performances with his Seattle based band helped make their albums truly successful events at both radio and retail, going on to sell millions of albums worldwide.

Always the musical pioneer, Cornell continued to break new ground with his very well received side projects like Temple Of The Dog featuring Pearl Jam and the late Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone, and continued his superstar legacy even further with Audioslave featuring members of Rage Against The Machine.

Culminating his years of a highly revered career, Chris embarked on a very successful sold-out solo 2011 Spring tour, appropriately titled Songbook. This Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter taped a number of these solo and acoustic performances, which now are featured on his exciting new deluxe 2LP-set also entitled Songbook. In collaboration with Universal Music Enterprises, Friday Music presents the exclusive limited edition release of the album on 180g audiophile vinyl.

Filled with 16 live tracks from various venues during the Spring Songbook tour, Cornell revisits some of his finest repertoire with stunning versions of Soundgarden classics "Black Hole Sun" and "Fell On Black Days," plus imperative tracks from his Audioslave days with "Wide Awake" and Temple Of The Dogs’ "Call Me A Dog."

He also offers up some new takes on two familiar covers including Led Zeppelin’s "Thank You" and John Lennon’s "Imagine," as well as several solo album tunes including one of his latest hits "The Keeper."
