Grant Green Grant's First Stand On Vinyl LP

Grant's First Stand was originally recorded soon after he was discovered by Lou Donaldson and brought to Blue Note with great acclaim. Green's heard here in a stripped-down trio with just Hammond from Baby Face Willette and drums from Ben Dixon. The set is raw and soulful and is very much in the vein of what Donaldson was bringing to the label at a time. Titles include "Blues For Willarene," "Baby's Minor Lope," "Miss Ann's Tempo" and "A Wee Bit O Green."
