During the '70s Marvin Gaye turned his attention to motion picture soundtracks. This soundtrack, to the 'blaxploitation' film of the same name is a masterpiece that ranks among his contemporaries Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes. The music features a great mix of up-tempo funk, light ballads and pseudo-macho camps all topped off with excellent production and Gaye's tremendous vocals.
