These legendary performances at the Half Note in New York were for years only available as a bootleg from tapes made off the radio. They are now officially available for the first time courtesy of Classic Records. John Coltrane is accompanied by McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison on bass and Elvin Jones on drums performing "One Up One Down", "Afro Blue," "Song of Praise" and "My Favorite Things" on this deluxe 2LP set with 12 page booklet. The original analog master tapes obtained from the Coltrane family were used by Bernie Grundman to master from and cut lacquers using Classic's "all tube" cutting system. Pressed on 200g Super Vinyl Profile, this is a must have for serious jazz lovers and audiophiles alike.
