Midrange presence is heartier and more palpable, bass is deeper and more textured, the top octaves are sweeter and more airy. Bearing noise is virtually eliminated improving resolution. Subplatter
The most visible part of the Deep Groove Subplatter Kit, the 4” subplatter is machined from a single billet of aluminum. The increased mass, superior consistency and improved damping of the machined spindle & subplatter greatly reduces wow and flutter and ensures a perfect fit with Rega platters. The subplatter's shaft has been precision grounded to within 1/10,000th of an inch and plated with a space-age alloy that decreases frictional force while increasing lubricity (when used with the supplied oil) for ultra-smooth rotation with every playback.

Ruby Bearing
Underpinning the Subplatter Kit is a finely polished ruby bearing. Smoother and less resonant in rotation than the stock steel bearing, the ruby bearing is a significant sonic improvement. A magnet is included for easy removal of the stock steel bearing.

Bearing Oil
Included with each Subplatter Kit is a bottle of graphite-free long-molecule strand oil. Formulated for long-term low-speed applications, this bearing oil is the perfect low-friction oil for the Subplatter Kit.
