Arguably one of the most influential titles from Coltrane and one of the greatest Blue Note releases ever. Right at the very start of his Prestige recording period, saxophonist John Coltrane did this 1957 one-off set in New Jersey with Rudy Van Gelder and the results have gone down in history. The recent reissue abundance of the title, re-packaged and enhanced in many ways, reveals the reverence put upon these sides. Now, the ultimate version of Blue Train in true 24/96 - 24/192 A-D is available.

Blue Train is packed solid with sonic evidence of Coltrane's innate leadership abilities. Not only does he address the tunes at hand, but also simultaneously reinvents himself as a multifaceted interpreter of hard bop and sensitive ballads. Joining Coltrane's tenor are Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Kenny Drew at the piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums.

HDAD is a two-sided DVD-based disc which Classic Records is calling 'Hybrid Digital Audio Disc' or HDAD.  One side of the disc is DVD-Video formatted and contains 24/96 2-Channel PCM data playable on all DVD video players.  The other side contains 2-Channel 24/192 PCM data and is playable on DVD-Audio players.
