1971's Tumbleweed Connection was a loose concept album about the American West. The music draws from country and blues and primarily ignores conventional pop structures; bouncing between versus and vague choruses. John pulls it off effortessly though, as Taupin's evocative lyrics really fit John's melodic sense perfectly. Tumbleweed features 'Ballad of a Well-Known Gun', 'Country Comfort', 'Son of Your Father' and 'Amoreena'.
