KINKS - SLEEPWALKER (HYBRID SACD)

It was 1977 with punk rock rising and The Kinks had been issuing elaborate concept albums and stage shows that saw their albums on a steady sales decline.  Then came this first album for the new Arista label and the title cut hit single that put the band back on the road to stadium-sized stardom in America.  While there's no trace of Brit-Pop to be found, there the seemingly-autobiographical ballads and rockers that no one does better than Ray Davies.  The original nine tracks are augmented by the sneering 'Prince Of The Punks,' the lovely 'Artificial Light,' and the unreleased at the time, 'The Poseur' and 'On The Outside.'
