Recorded at Long View Farm, Worcester, Massachusetts. Some people just don't 'get' Bad Brains. To be fair, their early recordings can be intimidating, and it is only when you familiarize yourself with the musical dialectics of tracks such as 'Pay To Cum' that you can really appreciate their kinetic aesthetic. Abandoning the speed-freak punk cum dub reggae crossover of old, Bad Brains now employed funk and conventional rock stylings. What they lost in 'edge' they more than compensated for in power, allowing temperamental vocalist H.R. to make the most of his famously elastic vocal range over the album's 31 minutes.
