Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin. Two guitar giants. One thrilling collaborative album drenched in spirituality, grace, and adventurousness. Recorded on the heels of Santana's powerhouse Caravanserai and The Mahavishnu Orchestra's Birds of Fire, Love Devotion Surrender tore up the pop music charts upon its release in 1972 and has been a jazz-fusion staple ever since. 

Several of the songs on the 5-song set feature extended timings which gave the two experts room to jam and free form their creative artistry to new levels. With new readings of the traditional "Let Us Go Into The House Of The Lord," as well as two John Coltrane interpretations in "A Love Supreme" and "Naima," Santana and McLaughlin truly delivered the goods with this timeless masterpiece!

The release also involves a who's who of accompanying musicians stemming from each guitarist's respective bands including Santana band notables Michael Shrieve, Doug Rauch, and Armando Peraza, as well as jazz legend Larry Young on organ, and future jazz fusion superstars Billy Cobham and Jan Hammer from The Mahavishnu Orchestra.

This edition of Love Devotion Surrender also includes a gatefold cover with all of the original artwork elements form the 1972 masterwork.
