Designed specifically for use with subwoofers and the low-frequency signals they handle, Audioquest's SUB-3 is a bit different than Audioquest's regular audio interconnects.  SUB-3 uses larger conductors for better low-frequency reproduction, heavy silver-plating for greater snap and slam, PE Air Tubes for greater speed and articulation and is DBS enabled for the ultimate in resolution and dynamics.

Sub-3 uses 21AWG solid-core LGC conductors which offer greater bass definition than stranded designs, very heavy 6.1% silver plating greatly improves speed and slam characteristics, the PE Air Tubes minimize time-domain smearing improving pitch definition and articulation, the DBS packs improve shielding and reduce distortion for greater transparency and dynamic range, SUB-3's three conductor design insures optimum performance, whether single-ended (RCA plugs) or balanced (XLR plugs), 100% coverage shield insures noise-free performance.  Topping it all off, Audioquest's silver-plated RCA plugs are welded to SUB-3 using 8,000 ampere, reducing distortion and improving conductivity.

SUB-3 uses three solid 6.1% Silver conductors inside PE Air Tubes. Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. PE Air Tubes minimize information smearing caused by any solid or foam insulation. The 36V electrostatic field on the PE tubes eliminates almost all remaining insulation induced distortion. A 100% coverage shield insures noise-free performance.
