Balanced Audio Technology has knocked one way out of the park with their new, stellar VK-250 Solid State Power Amplifier. With its compact and graceful design, the VK-250 becomes a perfect complement to BAT’s universally praised lineup of preamplifiers, from the VK-3iX through the VK-51SE.

The elegant signal path follows BAT’s purist approach of using zero negative feedback to achieve the design goals of wide bandwidth and circuit linearity. Just as in BAT’s newly introduced flagship VK-600, only two gain blocks are employed. Each gain stage incorporates exemplary Caddock loading resistors for a more transparent insight into the musical event.

This amp has so much power in reserve; it will drive any loudspeaker with complete control of the bottom end. The sonic signature is a one of warmth and musicality, combined with a sheer sense of sonic weight and dynamic slam. With both greater energy storage and the use of large Depth Charge style oil capacitors for power supply bypass, the VK-250 BAT-PAK™ combination provides a top-to-bottom coherence that is the very essence of musicality.

For the ultimate in flexibility, the VK-250 w/ BAT-PAK™ can be ordered as either a stereo amplifier or as a monoblock in the VK-250M version. BAT also provides a transparent upgrade path that allows the owner of a stereo VK-250 to easily convert to a monoblock at any point in time.
