BAT sound without tubes! Balanced Audio Technology is pleased to introduce the VK-42SE, their new reference in solid-state preamplifiers. Created for the audiophile who demands pure, natural tonality, but who is not a tube lover! Based on BAT’s revolutionary “Unistage” design; a Single Gain Stage with No Buffers and No Followers! The VK-42SE incorporates the same groundbreaking technology that first made its debut in Balanced Audio Technology's widely acclaimed VK-51SE tube preamplifier.

The revised circuit topology of the VK-42SE incorporates a brand-new, proprietary oil capacitors in their new power supply SUPER-PAK to improve the transparency and top-to-bottom coherence of this class-leading preamplifier. It’s a certainty that this new capacitor will find its way into other Reference BAT products! This new SUPER-PAK augments a fully balanced all-MOSFET circuit design that uses a C-multiplier based power supply combined with Vishay resistors in critical signal path locations. In addition to numerous circuit revisions, the BAT VK-42SE incorporates BAT’s famous SIX-PAK capacitor modules in the output stage to substantially improve the low-end authority over that of the already impressive VK-40 Preamplifier. The fully programmable user interface remains very easy to use and is still considered one of the finest in the industry.

Finally, Balanced Audio Technology's latest industrial design, available in either silver/black or all black as shown, completes this exemplary preamplifier. The VK-42SE is an honest attempt to create a reference solid-state linestage that is a genuine value.
