Continuing the evolution of BAT’s 5X series, the VK-52SE sports a dramatically improved SUPER-PAK power supply, which incorporates newly developed oil-filled capacitors, achieving a staggering 100 times greater energy storage over previous models. Rounding out the design are classic BAT touches, such as a zero global feedback, fully balanced circuitry, use of 6H30 SuperTubes, Vishay bulk metal resistors, and a superb 16-bit digital volume control that allows for 140 steps at 0.5db of resolution.

The sonic rewards include an increased sense of ease and effortless, combined with a textural liquidity, seamless coherence, and airy soundstage that create a deep immersion in the music. And if you want to take things as far as BAT can, the VK-52SE’s design platform provides a full upgrade path to the two-chassis REX.
