The new Simaudio Moon LP 5.3 Phono Preamplifier represents a significant leap forward in phono stage design. Sonically, it portrays all the Simaudio hallmarks: clean, powerful, fast and extended bass combined with an open midrange and airy extended high frequencies. One of the strengths of the LP 5.3 is its extensive flexibility with respect to user adjustable resistance and capacitance loading as well as gain. The single ended and true differential balanced outputs allow you to take full advantage of connectivity to any preamplifier. The Moon LP 5.3 is housed in a custom-made, sturdy chassis with a 3/8” brushed and anodized aluminum front panel. This phono stage will work with virtually any MM or MC cartridge.

The Moon LP 5.3 Phono Stage comes with a large, isolated power supply on a separate circuit board with 2 stages of voltage regulation. This keeps noise away from the delicate signal path. It is extremely user adjustable: impedance loading (10, 100, 470, 1K and 47k ohms), capacitance loading (0, 100 and 470pF), gain settings (54, 60 and 66dB). NOTE: Add 6 dB of gain to these figures if using the balanced outputs. The Moon LP 5.3 features both balanced and single ended outputs, extremely short signal paths, a detachable IEC power cord, and low operational temperatures for extended life. The transformer is a shielded toroidal design for low noise and high-current capability.
