The shimmering light emanating from the image of Peter White'sguitar on the cover of Glow is a perfect metaphor for not only theintensely joyous spirit of his music, but also the excitement ithas long inspired in the hearts of smooth jazz fans the worldover. Since the release of his debut, Reveillez-Vous, in 1990,White's music--a wondrous mix of potent grooves and gentleromance, lighthearted melodies and deep emotionalexpressions--has been a cornerstone of the genre, perfectlyparalleling the success of the radio format itself. Two of hisprevious recordings for the label, Caravan of Dreams (1996) andPerfect Moment (1998), each spent well over a year on theBillboard Contemporary Jazz chart and spawned numerousairplay hits including 'Caravan of Dreams,' 'Venice Beach,' 'Midnight in Manhattan' and 'Autumn Day.'

As its title promises, Glow offers a sense of musicalenlightenment via a combination of soulful nostalgia, lush lovesongs and snappy uptempo numbers--all hallmarks of thebeloved Peter White sound. The guitarist expands his usualscope this time to also include spirited stylistic excursions intoLatin music and funky hip-hop, as well as two thematicsongs--'Life Story' and 'Baby Steps'--which delve musicallyinto the mysterious questions we all have about life and death.Produced by Steven Dubin (who produced half the songs onPerfect Moment), Glow features guest performances by ahandful of the smooth jazz elite--Rick Braun, Dave Koz, KirkWhalum, Steve Cole, Euge Groove, and Jeff Lorber.
