After the explosion created by Led Zeppelin I and II the previous year, this set had rock fans eagerly awaiting its release in the Fall of 1970. Producing the elaborate die-cut/pinwheel album cover artwork insisted on by the band delayed getting this album to the its anxious public. Fortunately, Led Zeppelin III lived up to expectations and was the next step on the path of success for the biggest rock band of the 1970s. The album was recorded by engineer Andy Johns in both Memphis (Argent Studios) and London.

Led Zeppelin was and is the definitive heavy metal band. They incorporated mythology and mysticism into a bigger than life sound that defied critics and was fueled by a strong connection with an audience built through their album oriented blues-rock and explosive concerts. In doing so they established the dominant format for heavy metal as well as the genre’s actual sound. Led Zeppelin has never been more popular, pervasive or omnipresent and they’ve managed to be a band that no generation can ever ignore.

This re-issue, from Classic Records, is an all-analogue re-master pressed on a thick slab of premium 200g vinyl. The sound is absolutely incredible. You've never heard Led Zeppelin III with this much clarity, detail and punch!
