Tapestry is a record that needs no introduction! Recorded in 1971 and originally mastered by Bernie Grundman while at Contemporary Records, this album is one strongest female vocal records of all time! In fact, James Taylor later recorded 'You've Got a Friend' which was written and performed on Tapestry by Carole King. This is a stripped down recording by comparison with most other 70's pop albums, but this record started out as a folk album that quickly crossed over and became a success for Lou Adler's Ode Record label. The original pressings of this album were cut by Bernie Grundman from the same original 2 track master used when Bernie re-mastered this new version while all other LP issues (including the CBS 1/2 speed master) were cut from EQ’d copy tapes!
