Building on last year's Grammy-nominated "All The Roadrunning" collaboration with Emmylou Harris, his highest charting non-Dire Straits album to date (Top 20 Pop, scanning 400,000 copies in the U.S.), acclaimed singer-songwriter/guitarist Mark Knopfler unveils his fifth solo album, Kill To Get Crimson. The ablum's artful guitar rock and Knopfler's signature sound (he's #27 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time), instantly recognizable vocals and smart lyrics are presented here on 1/2 speed mastered vinyl. A multiple-Grammy winner who has sold more than 110 million albums worldwide, Knopfler remains one of rock's most admired artists!

With Dire Straits, Knopfler enjoyed the band's 1978 double-platinum self-titled debut (with the #4 "Sultans Of Swing"), 1979's gold Communique, 1980's platinum Making Movies, 1982's gold Love Over Gold, 1985's rock masterpiece Brothers In Arms (#1 nine weeks and nine times platinum, with the #1, Grammy winning "Money For Nothing") and 1991's platinum reunion album On Every Street. His solo debut was 1996's Golden Heart. 2000's Sailing To Philadelphia went gold in the U.S. and sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide. 2002's The Ragpicker's Dream was his first solo album to crack the U.S. Pop Top 40. The critically hailed Shangri-La followed in 2004.

The ex-Dire Straits lead man is still pluggin' along with yet another solo release. His newest album, Kill to Get Crimson, is released by Warner Bros and features "Punish the Monkey" and "True Love Will Never Fade".
