The Kanto iPair 5 can also work with other source devices, and can connect to a TV via S-Video for viewing your iPod video and pictures on your big screen. It comes with a set of RCA inputs for any source component, an 1/8” (3.5mm) mini plug input, and a USB input for computer audio.

The iPair 5 is shaped like a standard, rectangular bookshelf speaker, but incorporates an iPod dock on top to accommodate any dock-connecting iPod. It boasts left and right line-in RCA inputs, plus a 3.5 mm auxiliary mini-audio jack for connecting other devices; and a USB port for syncing the iPod with one’s PC. Customers can connect Apple’s Airport Express using the AC power outlet on the unit, or view video content from a connected video-capable iPod on a large-screen TV via the speaker’s S-video output. The speaker has a 5" magnetically shielded cone woofer; 1" tweeter; and includes built-in sub ports. This pair can go anywhere (next to TV) due its internal shielding.

The unit, which measures 10.6” H x 7.3” W x 8” D, weighs 23 pounds, and comes in three high-gloss finishes (Black, White and Silver), ships with a credit card-styled remote control that operates the functions of your iPod, including click wheel functions, volume, and mute; and can select inputs, or play back your tunes in repeat or shuffle mode.
