The AVID Sequel is an upgrade from their Volvere table. This unit adds a few key features to the attributes of the Volvere and transports the listener within breathing room of the Acutus. The AVID Sequel employs an unmodified motor used by the Acutus for significantly better control over the platter. The macro/micro dynamics are noticeably improved, resulting in better definition within the musical event. In audiophile circles, this is referred to as PRaT (Pace, Rhythm and Timing), which in analog playback terms is the difference between reproduced music and the actual event. The increased control of the platter also translates into better control of the suspension movements. This leads to a reduction in record surface and background noise, creating a blacker background and allowing more music to flow through your system. The increase in bandwidth allows amazing bass extension and a more natural high frequency presentation. The Sequel is topped off with an external dedicated power supply utilizing the state-of-the-art, split-phase quartz-locked technology used for the Acutus.
