Blue Train was the first fully realized masterpiece by Coltrane and it's packed solid with sonic evidence of his innate leadership abilities. Not only does he address the tunes at hand, but also simultaneously reinvents himself as a multifaceted interpreter of hard bop and sensitive ballads.
