Orginally released in 1970, The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys was a departure from Traffic's largely acoustic reunion album, John Barleycorn Must Die which was released a year prior. Although the opening track, "Hidden Treasure" and the mellow closer, "Rainmaker" are remeniscient of their earlier work, it's the powerful songs like the impassioned 12 minute title track and the sneering "Light Up Or Leave Me Alone" that make the album the commercial and artistic apex of the second coming of Traffic.
