Hours roll by and records stack up on the floor as the Kontrapunkt h delves deep into every record, bringing Ortofon's magical silkiness to bear on every record.  Deep soundstages, sweet vocals and excellent frequency extension make the Kontrapunkt h the cartridge for long listening sessions.  Resemblance to the rest of the Kontrapunkt family is apparent with outstanding channel separation across the fundamental frequency range and into the extreme upper frequencies, contributing to sublime dynamics and musical clarity.

Kontrapunkt h uses a nude Fine Line elliptical diamond stylus mounted on an aluminum cantilever (as in the Kontrapunkt a) in conjunction with Ortofon's innovative FSE (Field Stabilizing Element) which provides exceptionally open bass and midrange with smooth, natural overtones.

The coil windings are 99.9999% pure silver, the generating mechanism uses a high-powered neodymium magnet, yielding an output of 0.47mV.  Although Ortofon recommends a 100 Ohm loading, we've found better results with a loading above 470 Ohms, for a slightly faster, more open presentation with better detail.
