Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s are an 8-piece circle of young friends from Indiana who, in the spring of 2005, quietly released one of the most beloved indescribable records in recent memory, The Dust of Retreat. The band was signed to Epic Records in October of 2007, and wrote and recorded their major label debut with Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine). Two seperate releases were born from that recording session; Animal and Not Animal. Animal represents the band’s alternate track listing and will ONLY be released on 180 gram vinyl with digital download card a week before the traditional CD and vinyl release of Not Animal. This is a move that is rarely seen in the record industry, and with 5 tracks crossing over both albums, will provide a total of 19 new tracks for fans. Most often described as a dysfunctional family orchestra, the band has toured the country with The Elected, Rogue Wave, The Frames, South and The Fray, among others.
