Released in celebration of legendary Marantz Brand Ambassador and audio designer Ken Ishiwata’s 30-year anniversary with the company, the two-channel PM-KI Pearl Integrated Amplifier is an item that every audiophile should want to own. Strictly limited to only 500 units, personally customized by Mr. Ishiwata and sporting a sexy “silk black” Pearl finish—a first for Marantz Reference — the PM-KI was designed by Ishiwata “to reproduce music exactly as the original artist and the recording engineers intended.”

In order to meet his exacting standards, Ishiwata spared no expense and Marantz complied. He demanded an amp that would perfectly complement his SA-KI Pearl CD/SACD Player (a similarly limited collector’s piece also available from Music Direct). And so the PM-KI Pearl Integrated Amp features a copper-plated chassis with a heavy bottom plate, large toroidal transformer with copper-plated, fully-shielded case, solid aluminum machined feet, and an impenetrable 5mm-thick heavy aluminum top cover. The superior build quality extends to the remote, also constructed of solid aluminum. Concerned about its longevity? Don’t worry. Yes, it’s what’s on the inside that really matters…. and here’s where the PM-KI Integrated Amp really excels. Ishiwata realized long ago that it’s the music and emotion that matters, and to get the best-possible sound, loaded the PM-KI with an incredible array of audiophile-grade parts that ensure maximum signal-to-noise ratios and minimum interference. Adapting HDAM-SA3 and HDAM-SA2 modules, a CD direct input buffer circuit, constant current feedback phono preamp (MM/MC), and high-quality audiophile-grade components—hand-and-ear selected by Ishiwata himself—combine to produce some of the most natural, transparent playback we’ve ever heard. The PM-KI acts as an invisible link between your source components and loudspeakers, affording an intimate connection between you and the music you love.
 
So we encourage you to try to take the gorgeous looks out the equation, although we know that the spectacular black Pearl finish with the blue glow emanating from the side panels is quite possibly one of the sexiest HiFi designs we’ve seen in some time. The PM-KI is rated at 140 watts-per-channel into 8 Ohms, you’ll be hard pressed to find any pair of loudspeakers that cannot be powered by this incredible amp. Fast, detailed, dynamic, transparent.
