Recorded all in one day (July 11, 1958) at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in Hackensack, NJ, the appropriately titled A Day In The Life Of was originally only available as three separate LPs. The quintet session captures Coltrane at the top of his game on a set of covers alongside the hard-hitting rhythm section of Chambers/Cobb/Garland.
