The new SQ-38u may look like the perfect, classic 30 watts-per-channel, EL-34-based tube integrated amp, but—but what? That’s exactly what this is; an heirloom amp that will live in your system for the rest of your days. 30+ year-old versions of this amp design sell in Japan for more today than ever before. Why? This eleventh generation of SQ-38 is the perfect blend of old and new, a classic design that exudes luxury and class. This version includes a killer phono section with MM, MC Low, and MC High output settings with an on-board step-up transformer for analog bliss. A mono switch, subsonic filter, by-passable tone controls, high-end headphone output, and two pairs of speaker outputs round off this amp. We cannot fully stress the impressiveness of this design. The chassis are carefully tuned to control vibration and resonance, making Luxman products perform like a musical instrument. Finally assembly and testing are carried out in Japan.
