Adjustable Pitch Control, Audio EX Modes, and Ergonomic Remote Control Standard With Fine-Sounding Marantz CD5005 CD Player
Fueled by a reference-class 24-bit/192kHz DAC and proprietary HDAM technology, the Marantz CD5005 CD player delivers sought-after sonic purity and non-fatiguing performance that will have you listening late into the early-morning hours. Musicians will love the adjustable pitch function to fine-tune tempo, while two Audio EX modes disable pitch control and the digital audio outputs for the best-possible fidelity. A well-damped center-mounted CD drive mechanism, stylish metal faceplate, and remote control complete a player that sounds like it should cost much more.
Experience the Marantz Difference: Proprietary HDAM Technology
Ordinary CD players employ conventional IC-based op-amps in the D/A and analog output sections. CD5005 is equipped with HDAM technology, which uses discrete circuit elements, not ICs. HDAM technology provides wide dynamic range and wide frequency response along with lowest distortion for utmost musical fidelity.
Stellar DAC for High-Resolution Playback, Fully Discrete Headphone Amplifier
CD5005 is equipped with the reference-class CS4398 D/A converter, which provides up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution for optimum fidelity with high-resolution audio files. The all-discrete headphone amplifier section features premium components and is compatible with nearly all headphones. It includes a front-panel adjustable volume control.
Hear Your Music In the Best Fidelity: Adjustable Pitch Control, Audio EX Modes
CD5005 features adjustable pitch, which lets you vary the tempo of the music, and is of special interest to musicians. It can adjust the pitch of CDs as well as PCM-based audio files. For highest sound quality, the CD5005 includes two Audio EX modes: Audio EX Mode 1 disables the pitch control and the digital audio outputs. Audio EX Mode 2 disables the pitch control and the digital audio outputs, and blanks the front-panel display during playback (the display returns when playback is stopped or paused). It's the preferred mode for the best possible playback fidelity from the analog audio outputs.
Great Compatibility: Optical and Coaxial Digital Audio Outputs, More
For compatibility with the widest range of external digital audio devices and decoders, CD5005 features both optical and coaxial digital audio outputs. And to ensure optimum signal transfer and long term signal integrity, CD5005 features gold plated analog audio output connectors.
Ergonomic Remote Plus Remote Control Input and Output
An ergonomic remote control features a user-friendly keypad layout, with additional dedicated buttons to control a Marantz amplifier and a Marantz network audio player. Connect CD5005 to a Marantz amplifier via the remote control output port and from the amp to a Marantz network audio player for reliable remote-control operation. This lets you place the CD5005 on a shelf for easy accessibility, while the amplifier and network audio player can be tucked away in a cabinet to reduce visual system clutter.
Two-Line Fluorescent Display, Shows CD Text
An easy-to-read fluorescent display features clear alpha-numeric characters as well as a range of punctuation characters for instant readout of track titles, artist/album names, and other information. CD5005 is compatible with music discs that feature CD Text.
