Built to Conform to Iconic Designer Ken Ishiwata's Vision: Rotel A11 Tribute Integrated Amplifier Features Upgraded Parts, 24-Bit DAC, MM Phono Preamplifier, High-Value Performance
An audio homage worth savoring, the gorgeous Rotel A11 Tribute integrated amplifier honors the legacy of iconic engineer Ken Ishiwata – and also happens to have been based on one of his favorite products. Built to conform to his original vision – Ishiwata was in the process of overseeing the prototype when he passed away in late 2019 – A11 Tribute features greater resolution, timing, detail, and musicality than its award-winning A11 predecessor. In addition, it wears a special badge commemorating Ishiwata.
Equipped with specially selected components for optimal performance throughout the signal path, A11 Tribute counts nearly two dozen upgraded capacitors and resistors – including all six capacitors in the volume stage. Specialized damping materials on the mechanical chassis and a customized, in-house-designed toroidal transformer add to the one-box hub's low-noise operation and sonic prowess. Afforded Ishiwata's specification recommendations, it plays music with alluring smoothness, presence, and dynamics.
True to Rotel tradition, the 15-pound A11 Tribute provides a wealth of user-friendly functionality and meets the demands of multiple sources. Outputting 50Wpc into eight ohms via Class AB amplification, it leverages a Texas Instruments 24-bit/192kHz DAC and Bluetooth aptX for digital needs. The onboard MM phono preamplifier and four analog inputs encourage vinyl playback and the connection of traditional gear. A remote control, clean back-panel layout, and five-way speaker binding posts help round out an integrated that bears more than the stamp of one of audio's most legendary figures. 100% Music Direct Guaranteed.
"In the end, I challenge you to find a better-sounding pair of components on which to anchor a good, entry-level music system. The Rotel A11 amplifier and CD11 disc player are an honor to their makers. Two very honest components that do a great job at their tasks. It doesn't get any better."
– Jeff Dorgay, TONEAudio
"[The Rotel] Tribute pairing comes firmly recommended."
—Andrew Everard, Hi-Fi Choice, Recommended, Overall 5-Star Reviews for both A11 and CD11
"[The A11] delivers where it counts: in pure sound quality. Its 50Wpc of amplification should be more than enough to drive any speaker you're likely to connect to an integrated amp at this price, and the preamp output means you can add a sub if you want or need to."
—Dennis Burger, SoundStage! Access
"The CD11 Tribute and A11 Tribute set a high bar for Rotel products from now on, especially in value terms—they'll be a hard act to follow. They also sound slightly sweeter and more euphonic than you'd expect ... clearly showing the Ishiwata influence.... The result is an exceptionally able, affordable CD player/integrated amplifier combo that offers spectacular value for money, and has a charm of its very own."
—David Price, StereoNET, Applause Award
"This 50Wpc integrated offers a built in MM phono stage, and a streaming (only) DAC. But for [the price], it is an excellent solution for anyone wanting basic, yet high-performance audio, at an incredibly reasonable price."
