Patented Science, Proven Technology, and Unassailable Construction: Your Ears Will Tell You Everything You Need to Know About Shunyata Alpha v2 Speaker Cables

The reasons behind the revelatory, reference-grade performance of Shunyata's Alpha v2 speaker cables owe to a striking combination of engineering, technology, and construction that begins with patented science. Specifically, a breakthrough proprietary device called HARP reduces current resonances within the cables, analogous to the use of diffusion panels that treat frequency irregularities in room acoustics. Second-generation Zitron technology that measurably lowers dielectric distortion while preserving the integrity of the original audio signal. But it alone isn't solely responsible for allowing Alpha v2 to clearly pass the full measure of your power amplifier to your loudspeakers. Alpha v2 also touts Shunyata's Kinetic Phase Inversion Process (KPIP) – a groundbreaking conditioning method that not only eliminates the need for time-consuming burn-in but elevates the overall fidelity of your system. That's correct: Alpha v2 cables don't require any time to sound their best. They are ready to go out of the box thanks to KPIP. Of course, Shunyata wouldn't put its name on any audio product that wasn't built to nth degree, and the U.S.A.-made Alpha v2 cables are no exception.

All Alpha v2 speaker cables feature OFE copper conductors, advanced fluorocarbon dielectrics, sonic welding that mitigates junction points, and STIS terminals. Shunyata's exclusive, huge, six-gauge VTX hollow-core conductors maximizes current flow and prevents any skin effects. We could attempt to sway you with all of the improvements you will hear with Alpha v2 speaker cables providing that ever-important link in your system. Yet that wouldn't even account for all the details you'll notice on recordings that you never knew existed – or which never sounded so full, rich, or present. That being said, it's best you experience Alpha v2 for yourself in your home. Backed by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Alpha v2 speaker cables will renew your faith in science – and have you listening for hours on hours on end.

HARP
HARP was discovered during Caelin Gabriel's research into current drift and audio frequency current resonances that occur in speaker cables. These resonances are roughly analogous to standing waves (modals) in room acoustics. The exclusive HARP module acts as a current-mode diffraction device that breaks up these resonances, improving the perceived resolution and coherency of the system.

Second-Generation Zitron Technology: Lowers Distortion, Preserves Integrity
The internationally patented Zitron technology is the most compelling of Shunyata Research's technologies given its ability to measurably lower dielectric distortion and preserve the original signal's integrity. It requires a special type of conductor that has two signal paths and an electric field compensation circuit that creates a cancellation signal that prevents the insulation from developing a charge. Zitron cables have earned a legendary reputation among reviewers, customers, and sound professionals for their ability to eclipse the performance of even cost-prohibitive cables. Caelin Gabriel's research has evolved to a second-generation Zitron technology that is making its debut in Alpha Series.

KPIP (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process)
Shunyata founder Caelin Gabriel developed KPIP after years of research into the underlying causes of various effects such as burn-in, wire directionality, and cryogenic treatment. He discovered an underlying core principle that burn-in and cryogenics only partially addressed. Once the governing principle was understood, it became possible to create a processing technique and machine that could virtually eliminate the need for burn-in and cryogenic treatment.

OFE 101 Copper for Unsurpassed Purity
OFE Alloy 101, or C10100, is the highest grade of copper, with a minimum 99.99% purity and a conductivity rating of 101% IACS. OFE stands for oxygen-free electrolytic and supersedes the term OFHC (oxygen-free high conductivity). C10100 is the only grade of copper that comes with a written certification of purity.

ArNi Wire
ArNi® is a type of wire created by Shunyata Research designed to be the finest quality wire available for audio purposes. It begins with the highest-purity or copper available. It is then formed in virtual hollow tubes, eliminating skin effects and eddy current distortions. And finally, the wire undergoes Shunyata's proprietary KPIP process.

Sonic Welding
Simple crimping, soldering, brazing and screws are all inferior methods of joining two wires or terminals together. Sonic welding uses high-energy sonic waves to literally join two metals together at a molecular level and cold-welding uses high-energy pneumatic pressure to bond metals. Shunyata Research uses both methods to secure connections that do not degrade over time.
