Total Bass Bliss: REL HT/1510 Predator Subwoofer Is Ready to Rumble, with 1,000 Watts of Power and Massive Upgrades in Speed, Scale, and Overall Performance

The REL HT/1510 Predator Subwoofer is a remarkable case of the sequel being superior to the original. Known as Predator II because it represents a huge leap forward when compared to its award-winning predecessor (the HT/1508 Predator), the upgraded HT/1510 offers significantly more power. But that is just one of the many improvements it offers, as the entire design has been upgraded throughout. If you're seeking total bass bliss for your home theater setup—or when listening to your favorite album—the HT/1510 is ready to rumble.

The whopping, 1,000-watt linear power supply amplifier and new 15-inch driver are both a direct response to what discerning customers wanted: bigger, faster dynamics, and loads of authoritative power. Featuring (4) x 400-watt MOSFETs and a monster power supply, the HT/1510 is perpetually and instantaneously ready when an action movie's special effects erupt. We're talking massive power with almost limitless reserves. But muscularity without grace is pointless: The HT/1510 can also handle the dynamics and subtleties of intricate musical passages.

The 15-inch driver retains the combination of glass fiber and carbon fiber center cap, which allows quick, reactive bass with slam—the hallmark of great theater sound. The lightweight glass fiber allows the 3-inch voice coil to accelerate Predator II's cone instantly, while the carbon fiber center cap stiffens the composite structure, ensuring that even in the biggest moments, its cone structure remains intact and un-phased by massive signals. Overall, Predator II offers massive upgrades in every aspect of its sonic performance.

A gorgeous new cabinet with sleek, revised proportions to perfectly mate with other REL designs for a surround sound system give this sub tremendous flexibility—as well as irresistible visual appeal. And, like every Music Direct product, this premium subwoofer comes with the 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee.

Stellar Design, Innovative Engineering

REL subwoofers benefit from incorporating integral engineering solutions throughout the company's designs. One example is BrilliantBrace. Employed inside each HT/1510, it cradles the rear of the driver to eliminate shipping damage; quiets and redirects energy normally trapped in the driver; and quiets top, bottom, and both sidewalls of the cabinet. Plus, the full-depth rails—used to support and reactively brace against the powerful movements a subwoofer can produce—also mean Predator II can be stacked in Line Arrays for the ultimate in home theater.

Stack 'em for Even More Magnificent Slam

HT/1510 Predator subwoofers are designed to be stacked up to three units high using included REL couplers to connect lower units to upper units. These solid, milled aluminum couplers bolt securely to each sub. Along with the substantial rails on the underside of each cabinet, this creates a heavy, sturdy tower.

When used in stereo stacks (six total, three per side), this represents over 8,000 watts of peak power forcing six 15-inch drivers to give their utmost. The result is oceanic torrents of bass. This setup can work sonic wonders in a wide variety of home theater designs—including those with enormous projection screens.

Under the Hood

To ensure that this subwoofer would offer optimal performance via technological advancements, REL developed specialized HT versions of the acclaimed PerfectFilter to deliver flatter deep bass, now down to 20 Hz. As icing on the cake, the HT/1510 delivers the highest .1/LFE output of any REL ever.
