Description

This Turntable Might Make You Become a Vinyl Addict: Award-Winning Pro-Ject Debut PRO Offers Exceptional Value, Resolute Performance

What’s arguably the top-performing turntable available for under four figures? Don’t sleep on the EU-built Pro-Ject Debut PRO. Winner of the prestigious EISA Award for Best Value Turntable and acclaimed by Stereophile., Hi-Fi+, and What Hi-Fi?, Debut PRO plays 33RPM, 45RPM, and 78RPM LPs with a sound that goes beyond entry-level high-end and comes loaded with an ample feature set — including a Sumiko Rainier phono cartridge, electronic speed change, synchronous motor, and dust cover. Most importantly, this belt-drive’ table plays with an expressiveness marked by stellar dynamics, solidity, soundstaging, depth, fullness, and detail.

Easy to set up and operate, Debut PRO touts a one-piece, 8.6-inch carbon-wrapped aluminum hybrid tonearm that offers high levels of rigidity and mass for effective control of your cartridge. A tonearm collar allows for simple adjustment of vertical tracking angle (VTA) and azimuth; a TPE-damped and die-cast aluminum platter that rotates with excellent smoothness and accuracy; and height-adjustable resonance-defeating support feet add to the elevated functionality. You won’t find CNC-milled parts on cheap ‘tables, but you’ll get 'em here — as well as a nickel-plated aluminum bearing block and isolated power supply that further contribute to low-distortion sonics.

A picture of elegance, Debut PRO has a minimalist appearance crowned by a simple speed toggle switch, brushed metal trim, and a satin black finish achieved with eight coats of lacquer hand-painted over the MDF plinth. Debut PRO can also accommodate mats and cartridges of all types thanks to its tonearm base and notched platter; this is a turntable that will grow with you as you upgrade other elements of your system.

"The Pro is the most ambitious and sophisticated Debut model we've heard. It is a superb-sounding package that's built well and is easy to set up. If you are looking for a record player at this level, ignore this one at your peril."
What Hi-Fi?, five-star review, 2022 Product of the Year Winner

"Described as 'the ultimate expression of the Debut concept,' it sounds assured and involving – it's an absolute knockout, and a new champion for the entry level."
—EISA Award for 2021-2022, Best Value Turntable

"The Debut PRO bowled me over with its dynamics, detail, soundstaging, spatial depth, and scale... If you're in the market for a [turntable in this price class], the Debut PRO is an easy choice."
—Ken Micallef, Stereophile, Class C Recommended Component

“Vinyl is a format that seems to lend itself to this sort of naturalistic timing, but not every record player is capable of giving it the sort of apparently effortless expression the Debut Pro can.”
Hi-Fi+, 2022 Best Product Award, Low Cost Turntable
