Remastered from the Original Analog 3-Track Tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound
RCA Living Stereo classical LPs are the gold standard for top quality orchestral performance and sound! Analogue Productions' RCA Living Stereo Reissue Series No. 2 presents another 25 newly remastered classical titles which will delight and astound music buffs with unbelievable clarity and tonal richness.
Charles Munch was the opposite of the "intellectual" school of French conductors. He was a completely spontaneous artist, which is what made him a great Berlioz interpreter where literally anything could happen when he got up onto the podium. It follows then, that his Ravel is not going to be the sort of hyper-precise, calculated sort of reading that many fans of the composer expect, but it's exciting as hell. These three pieces are shrewdly chosen; they are the composer's most extrovert works, and Munch pulls out all of the stops here with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. A classic recording, and a great memento of a unique artist.
Mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog master tapes, this Hybrid Stereo SACD edition plays on all CD and SACD players, as well as all SACD-compatible DVD players. This title is also available on 200g vinyl.
